A note from our founder

“My third infusion of chemo wasn’t going so great. The full effects were starting to hit me and I was feeling tired and anxious. About an hour into my infusion, Katie, my chemo nurse brought me a gift bag. Inside were a few items and a card from an anonymous person sending me encouragement, she had sat in my place and knew what I was going through. This anonymous person gave the bag to Katie with the instruction to give it to whoever she thought needed some cheering up that day. Even though it was only a small token, it lifted my spirits. After I completed my chemotherapy I started making a couple of these same bags and giving them to Katie with the same instructions. In 2015, I extended the offer to my own friends and family to donate items for these gift bags and the response was overwhelming! We continue to grow and have distributed over a thousand bags to treatment nurses and social workers at hospitals in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Each bag is assembled with items handmade or donated with love and encouragement and support. Reminding those undergoing cancer treatment that people you have never met are sending you prayers, strength, encouragement and positive thoughts.”
